Using Image/Map Questions

Marking a route

pointSurvey gives you the unique ability to include spatial information in your surveys. Take for example marking a walking route and pinpointing dangerous locations along the way.

It is easy to mark a route. Just click on the starting point. Then click on subsequent waypoints. On a road map these will typically be street crossings or turns along the way. Then a final click on the end point completes the route.

In the figure the starting point is indicated by the green house icon. Each straight segment is a leg of the route. The end point is indicated by the red circle.

Marking a problem location

These figures show how a problem location can be marked on a map question.

The red x, in figure 1, is the respondent's selection of a problem spot.

In figure 2 we see an example of the different ways the respondent can annnotate this location. The drop-down box at the right allows the respondent to "rate" the location as to the severity of the problem. The drop-down box on the left allows the respondent to give a prepared description of the problem. In addition a text box is provided to allow a freetext description to be entered.
